Most artist community websites don't really attract businesses and others outside the typical artist networking circles. These networks often fail to create attention, interest, desire & action (AIDA) in issues that would attract businesses and vice versa.

SICU ART is a Strategic Art Alliance founded to Create, Support and Develop Art Related Business's: To Support Corporate Communication & Brand Marketing, and to Connect Unconnected Artists, Art Dealers, Galleries, Museums, Collectors, Exhibition Organizers, Marketers, Media, Sponsors and Collaboration Partners, in all different categories, in order to learn and benefit from each other.

CASE-STUDY: AKSELI GALLEN-KALLELA ART EXHIBITION

SICU ART offers you an opportunity to connect & interact with other members representing an amount of art related disciplines, to become familiar with art & business related case-studies, with the aims and objectives of commercial and non-profit organizations, to suggest new ideas, concepts and events, to share good and bad experiences, and problems in order to be solved, and to receive extensive knowledge about sponsorship, event marketing, and how to create effective marketing & utilization programs, among many other things.

CASE-STUDY: ARS 95 (Installation by Anthony Gormley)

Though SICU ART aims to be an entirely transparent "art & business" society, we have the strength to protect our rights as well. The strength behind SICU ART is the Globally Extensive Networks of the undersigned and the huge amount of connections we have altogether. If someone is "clever" enough to break a contract or trespass on individual rights, just one word and "millions" of people will become to know about it.

Hello Tom,

Having read your message regarding that fellow artist who joined and then in few minutes, withdrew his membership, it tells me one thing. He joined to have a quick look at what is going on, for different reasons. I can have a long list!!

Apparently, he did not sign in to be a permanent member, rather he had something else in mind!

For the very lame reasons he gave and criticizing members right from the beginning, then, disappear, a normal person will not do that.

If he was seriously respectful about his concerns, he could have suggested or shared his opinions with the rest of members, hinting for improvements. No one is perfect and a perfect network dose not exist. Unless he has one in his dreams, we will be happy to dream with him but not for too long, probably for couple of minutes.

Although, he has good points we could have discussed them and improve on. It is very true we are not here to impress anyone, but to give and receive. At the same time, there is nothing wrong to open our profiles to members, out of respect, to know enough about us. If someone takes it as to impress others, they might need to adjust their thinking.

Back to his point, if we only giving compliments, we will be only receiving the same. I do not minimize the importance of receiving compliments, we all need them, but there is time for everything.

So, let us sharpen each other, share important information, suggest ideas, exchange thoughts, open new topics for conversation etc. In another words, let us make it work for all and not only for one way street.

Having said that, I would not worry about this fellow, he has his mind set for something else and that fine. But I would encourage members to only, please invite those you know and trust. Also, when members post comments, please do not not hesitate to make it constructive. Improvement will only take place as a result of such comments and we all have open minds to benefit from such comments. There is a constructive comment and destructive one which we surly, want to avoid.

As you wish to make good use of the information posted herewithin, your inputs are, as well, very vital.

Thank you all

Mona

I have got the following response by inviting an artist/painter to join SICU SSGN and SICU ART:

"Thanks you for the invitation. Despite your obvious dynamism and interest in helping other artists I find that there are too many other artists simply trying to impress one another on SICU and it is a distraction to my work".

The most interesting thing was, that the artist in question withdrew his membership immediately, within a couple of minutes, after joining. I had not even the time to approve him.

Can somebody tell me what this can be all about?

The nature of creative thinking connected
to society's business world has been a challenge I have been wrestling with for a lifetime of activity in the visual and poetic
arts. I suspect that I really need a new addition to my DNA in order to have this kind of interdisciplinary talent. Oh well.

"GOODWILL's Children win at 2008 World Water Day International Poster Contest organised by NV-OC,USA"

Goodwill Social work centre, Madurai,India conducted a series of Poster contests for school children on the theme 'WHAT WATER MEANS IN MY LIFE' on 8th March 2008 to celebrate the International Water Day, which falls on 22nd March every year. This is part of the 'Children's Rights through artwork project' being supported by ART VENTURE, Singapore. 366 children in the age group of four to 17 years from 47 schools participated. Of which, Goodwill Social Work Centre had sent as many as 200 posters to Nature¬’s Voice-Our Choice, USA, which organised the international poster contest in April 2008.At the international level, as many as 800 students from 12 countries participated, and 13 award winning posters were selected including the five posters from Madurai,India.
J.E.T. Prasanna, T. Santha Kanagasabai, J. Rohan, L. Gomathi and R. Sindhu Devi let their imagination run riot at the preliminary poster contest organised by Goodwill Social Work Centre on the theme ¬“What water means in my life.¬” Prasanna, a sixteen year-old student of Madura College Higher Secondary School, presented water as a source of life to a child right from the womb.

T. Sastha Kanagasabai, a 12-year-old student of TVS Matriculation Higher Secondary School did a comparative presentation of past, present and future. The earth is shown as a barren place, while the future seems hopeful.
Seven-year-old Sindhu Devi and four-year-old Rohan and Gomathi of Lakshmi School portrayed scenes from daily life such as drinking, bathing, washing and cooking. In addition to these features, Gomathi had depicted smiling clouds, trees and mountains with a note ¬“hey water flow forever and make us happy¬”.
Congratulations to our five International poster contest winners!

Please view the photos of our winners at the Award Distribution function held on Saturday,21st June 2008 at the Goodwill social work centre. Please view our webalbum: http://picasaweb.google.com/chrisdangswc/GOODWILLSChildrenWinAt2008WorldWaterDayInternationalPosterContestOrganisedByNVOCUSA
