Specialized Tours, Travel, Hotel For Chronically Ill Patients - What Is Available In The World Today?

Basically the need for travel, planning, itinery, the where, why, when, how of it all is very important in feeling all needs for your trip will be covered and the traveler will feel full comfort in having made the connect of the airlines, hotel, places to visit, have been made.

I have not traveled for many years and 'if' i should travel, I have more express needs than most because of my life threatning issues. Being on dialysis, my main connect has to find a place that the US Government will cover on affiliated home soil. Like many I should love to travel to Italy, and stay at least three weeks with my husband and daughter. Unfortunately, the US will not cover my medical needs unless it is on US soil.

But in regards to my upcoming event, May 24, 2009 I would love to find an airlines that would offer for disabled lives a connected trip wherein those who would like to be at our yearly event, could book from Europe and or Eastern Europe, an airline that could pick them up in their various countries to one main point in Europe fly them here as a group and fly them back. If I could offer that sort of a trip for their wanting to attend our event I am sure that would help to make their travel plans more assured. Not having travelled on specialized trips set up for the disabled in nations outside the United States, or San Francisco, I really don't know how or if this sort of travel plans have been addressed.

Dear Tatiana,

Thank you very much for openly sharing all this. I see this as an important issue, which could eventually be in the interest of one of the internationa airline companies. What I see is needed is a "middle man/woman" who are well connected with airlines, and I hope that someone from e.g. iloho could give you an idea.

What I would like to suggest is that you copied and posted the article above even in the SICU SKY TRAVEL Group on ILOHO. I think an idea would also be that you created an own group on iloho; "Specialized Tours, Travel, Hotel For Chronically Ill Patients". In this group you could promote your event and offer for disabled lives a connected trip (if possible) wherein those who would like to be at your yearly event.

I will now send the link to your posting to the key persons on iloho in order to ask them kindly to comment on this. I think this could be an interesting project both for iloho and divergent airline companies, hotels...

Let's see what happens.

I think this could even be build-up as a project within the field of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) to be developed and executed together with a few companies, such as an international airline company and a hotel chain for instance.

To go one step more and if at all possible, we MHONA, islooking for a Sponsor who would be willing to advertise to pick up disabled youth and or elderly with disabilities to bring them to our global event in an advertising campaign that would not only offer a trip of a life time for deserving youth to come to San Francisco,California. We would want them to speak up on their rights and freedoms, 'inclusion and access' in their world of today, but really show that airlines, hotels and travel agents do have the heart and mind of peoples with disabilities in focus. Lives as ours really need not have barriers, but feel truly included in all of life's adventures. Flying with full assurance would be another positive step forward for lives with disbilities especially in group offering at discounted prices, etc.

I see offering this as a win-win for lives globally and offering such a promotional tour, would brighten lives, offer more avaibility to lives with disabilities. It would also allow peoples, families, youth know that they remain as a part of all communities, not separted because of their disabilities. The path of freedom belongs to all lives, not just a given few.

Together with our hearts and minds focused on what we CAN accomplish is indeed a stance for generations to come. Thank you so much for your time and kindness to believe in our abilities and our stance to fight back in Freedom's Name. Our success for our independence remains everyone's. After all believing in yourself only strengthens the ties of those about you who believe anything is possible. Yesterday, they said a plane could not get off the ground. In today's world we want to say we fly with the best and those whose policies and actions speak freedom, shows truly that the skies really have no barriers and we can leave fear far behind and focus only on that which needs our full attention, once we place everything else in capable hands where full provision is offered and honoured. The question remains, who, where, and what will be those courageous airlines willing to offer such services?

Once we establish the understanding that nobody is exempt from becoming disabled, by life, leaders, governments, disases, disabilities, then we can rest assured that what we propose is not so far fetched. Nobody asks to be disabled, or to be downed by chronic illnesses, or on life support. Still we must make the best of our situations. I think this is a positive step forward in bringing this to airlines, and hotels express attention. Getting over the hurdle of these life changing issues is hard enough. But feeling left out, unprovided for, or that communities and businesses have no real connect to you or can afford you can leave one quite diminished.

I look forward to finding hotels, services, airlines willing to participate in and of our global initial event, as Sponsors so we can together step forward on that 'no barrier' path together for fighting for our freedoms, and the public's, by showing we are not alone but are on the same page and willing to find answers. Only when avenues as this are offered in a public showing of solid support will you win the lasting connect of lives everywhere. It takes courage to go forward, it means nothing if you don't 'try' and leaves no name or action for any name value who wishes to fly premier and offer life's very best. I think this is 'the ticket to many freedoms' if there are those willing to venture forth.

"I think in particular if we could get something going like centering on children and youth and or elderly lives with disabilities, with parent guides supportors being on a given trip to come to our event, it could present to be a great promotional advertising global connect for those also willing to make connect to air travel airlines as such. Though our event will be a first this year to say we have a sponsor who is willing to bring youth of the world at a discount price, find a hotel here to put up the youth as a package tour, then that would surely offer the globe of disabled live a real positive connect, a win-win for all... Wow, what a thought for lives to come : )"

Thanks again Tom. God Bless
