Snoobi and Google Analytics

Google Analytics and Snoobi are the market leaders in web analytics software at least in Finland. There are an estimated 4800 enterprises using the Google Analytics software in Finland, while Snoobi has in the region of 2500 clients. The combined market share of Google Analytics and Snoobi on the Finnish markets make up for 75 percent of of all visitor tracking software.

Google Analyics is a free visitor tracking service offered by Google. With Google Analytics it is easy to obtain information about the utilization of a website as well as measure the effectiveness of AdWords-advertising. The strength of Google Analytics is in measuring the effectiveness of Adwords and in the marketing analysis of Business-to-Customer sites, which contain a webstore or an equivalent ordering system.

The most significant difference between Snoobi and Google Analytics in the focus; Google Analytics focuses on Business-to-Customer sites, whereas Snoobi is designed to operate in Business-to-Business environments. Google Analytics does not give a clear picture of what specific visitors or companies have been doing on the website, since Analytics does not display the path of each visitor. i.e. which particular pages they have viewed.

The main focus of Analytics lies in producing general level information about the website. Hundreds of Finnish companies have used a combination of both Snoobi and Google Analytics to follow-up the traffic on their website. Both solutions have their advantages, and together give an extremely comprehensive picture about the traffic on a website.
