Simona chants the mantra Kali Durge. In Hindu mythology Kali represents time and nature. The word Kali comes from "Kaala", which means on the one hand black and on the other hand time. People call her Kali - The Black One. The three aspects of cosmic function - creation, preservation and destruction - be done in time. You can see this in the symbolic expression that Kali is dancing on Shiva's chest - the Mahakala of the eternity. Kali's three eyes see the past, present and future. Their bright white teeth symbolizing Sattva and purity. The protruding tongue means rajas, the active principle in nature. Durga embodies the all-powerful creative force and consciousness of supreme power (God). She is the divine mother-goddess, she is powerful and as a female deity the best expression of nature. She appears as Durga in order to combat demons. Durga is the most well-known form of Shakti worship. Durga is friendly, kind and merciful to those who are devoted to her. She fulfills the wishes of their supporters who pray with a sincere heart to her. She provides material and spiritual wealth. People who are seeking God call her with the request to destroy all their wishes and realize their highest selves. She helps with the destruction of our inner negative forces, weaknesses and pettiness. On earth, she has the role to eliminate the demons that plague the gods and men. Dolphin - preparing Yoga headstand by strengthening your arms and shoulders
Strengthen your shoulders and arms as preparation vor Shirshasana, Yoga Headstand. You need to strengthen your muscles in shoulders and arms to be able to do headstand - in headstand most weight should be on your elbows. In Yoga Vidya we teach that you should be able to do 8-12 times this dolhin exercise before attempting this headstand. I searched in SICU SSG members on keyword “peace” and the results I got includes your name, hence this note.
Last 100 years+ seems most enlightened and advanced period of human history yet, at the same time, this period is of unparalleled bloodshed too through wars and other human interventions.
What is the use of knowledge and advancements in science and technology then?
Are we not same, or even worst than, the ‘cavemen’ of stone age whose best option was ‘might is right’?
There is a lot of talk about peace, yet yet whither peace? – the powerful amongst us shun others to acquire WMD or even augmenting their defense capability but the powerful themselves continue stockpiling more WMD and improving their destructive power.
A famous saying goes that “nothing can stop an idea when its time has come”; lately there is a lot of talk about peace though peace remains a dream as ever for majority human population all over the world.
May you share your thoughts on how to achieve peace, or at least restore the situation to as it was before 9/11?
