One of the things we are promoting with Cultural Fusion is transparency and Inclusion. I know to many this may seem contrary to developing intellectual property which can maintain its value.

The risk of transparency in concept origination and development is that someone can "steal" your idea, right?

I don't think so.

That's because a truly original idea....one with that special something that comes from Source is just that unique and intimately connected to ones' being. Even if someone reads my words, if their intention is not positive, they will not be able to fully see what is being expressed. This is hiding in plain site, only those with the heart and soul that is in synch will see what is being shared because the true heart of it is what happens through sharing and collaboration. This means that only people who are working in close communication with me will have been given insight into the magic of the concept. See Hotel Infinity

When someone reads the words and has the intention to steal the idea, what they do is miss the very thing that gives it its highest value....the integrity and passion that are the foundation and the highest security that is based on loving inclusion.

This is a radically new way of approaching security and it is as mysterious as invisible ink.

What I have observed in the past when I felt someone had attempted to steal my ideas is this....

What the other person created and what I envisioned were not the same thing.

It has challenged me to understand exactly how inclusion works and more specifically how it works in this context.
There is the personal collaboration levels that is about sharing and as that stretches outwards to wider circles the sharing is amplified by a focus on service for humanity.

In the past I would get upset and feel victimized, but now I smile and thank you for the validation that others saw value in the ideas whether they develop them with me or not,, my freedom to do so is not hindered.

There is space for everyone to express what they feel called to express to move them forward...whether that be in business or life. Now I understand something Ron said some time back about abandoning the idea of ownership of ideas. It is instead value that is based on contrast aka unique expression and quality of attention which is shaped by intention

I can see that what another created is the result of specific efforts and see what is there to learn. Where there is conflict there is something in common and once that area is understood there is no longer conflict.
This is the opportunity I am interested researching that is informed by Ron's Theory of Attention.

I have learned to see my chances to practice inclusion and to explore how value is established and leveraged in this new social capital enhanced economic model. I think inquiry into and effort at defining these issues is key to getting businesses seriously engaged in the open source arena.

The shared vision of those on the Cultural Fusion team is the basis for what I have defined as Convergence. Today it occurs to me that what I mean to draw attention to is the nonverbal soul/intuitive level communication that is understood and felt in a mutually profound way. It is that level of synchronicity which commands your attention and promotes your personal growth, an awakening of consciousness and all that entails. This is why my wish for everyone is that some day you can find a true vision that is unique to your highest being.

In my insights (SoulFood Traditions) service is the path to experiencing ourselves as an expression of Source. This natural flow towards the path of service and integrity as the key to quantifying value of attention, creativity, etc.

In a sense this is the basis for the value of social capital.

What are the traits that either increase or diminish your value in relationship and attention driven economies?

What do you say about my view of risks and rewards? What has been your experience?

Dear Yvette,

It is not a problem at all; I totally understand your busy schedule. Only busy people understand how it is like to catch up on many issues at the same time. It is my pleasure to share my thoughts with you if were of any value!

The way to go, MOVE ON; meanwhile, you can approach those who can be involved/effected in your research such as music and film industries! It could include, also, all those with intellectual abilities and in the reproductions industries. Why not, propos the area of your research and what you are intending to do and accomplish to those ones! Most likely, those who take themselves and their business seriously will offer their support! So, yes, moving on will lead to more meaningful collaborations.

Companies can be run by one, two or more, but usually start with one and it grows up. So what applies on one can be applied to everyone when they share same interests! Therefore, you are absolutely right; “they are not only connected but they are one”. As for technology, as it progress laws need to ne adjustable. The problem is that there is “High tech and high touch”. So, you will be the essential glow to keep that lost touch, as a result of the high technology, to be reconnected.

Yes, you are right again; there is no end to keep pace with technology and laws will continue to struggle. Only with the speed of technology, if there was speed of improving one’s conscious, then we would have not run to this issue! As for surviving, not only music and film industries or all with intellectual property are struggling to survive, in fact mankind have been struggling for many other reasons but this is another issue. We can only do what we can handle/offer.

If change will result in growth, then who would reject it! We make choices whether right or otherwise and learn from our mistakes and come back to where we were supposed to be. The truth about any factor will remain and this is the beauty of it. Whether the necessary changes are appreciated now or soon after, they will always, be honored by those who have understanding now or soon after.

Finding a solution may seams to be very complicated yet, it can be very simple. Since we all are different and have different goals in life with different approaches, this has an effect on finding a general/one solution. However, solutions can be grouped for groups and each will choose its preference. Although there is always risk in our choices, responsibility is required.

Mentioning band aids, that can happened easily but will not stop discovering range of solutions to serve for specific situations. This the way to go as I have explained above, grouping solutions for certain cases. It is long path of process but is worth the efforts.

Yvette, you hit it on the head (LASTING PEACE), and this; you would include in your proposal and I second it. Big issues are for remain big when are not handled properly or not handled at all. Once they are dealt with, are no longer big, so you will be looking for what is big and will get small again. There is no such thing “limit ourselves”, if we can do it then there is no limit and how do we know that we can unless we try and when we succeed, then there is not limit. If we did not succeed, then a different approach can be taken!

It is my pleasure to support your idea, a good goal for a good cause.

Best wishes

Mona

My dear Yvette,

You are an amazing, outstanding, sensible and philosopher person. I am very impressed by your positive and creative interpretation of matters and how you are so capable of turning them to be of important issues. Yet, many people might escape all those hidden corners in between. Yet, you are capable to seeing beyond what appears on the surface. I compare this as the details of my paintings which many might not see when passing by, in nature, yet for me, is never enough and always feel that there a lot of that which I could present/illustrate. My goal is to help people to have more appreciation for what is surrounding us with all its sophisticated purposes. This is exactly YOU, who have so much to offer! Briefly, I admire YOU.

Of course I will reply on the previous message, no escape with me :-))

Warm regards,

Mona

Dearest Mona,

Your short reply is another aspect of what is of interest to me in terms of developing some sort of valuation system that works for those providing creative talent....my primary idea around this so far has been that there is a distinction in the quality of attention that one brings to any endeavor, whether a dialogue or a creation.

The fact that you demonstrated an awareness of this same concept, quality of attention, is what I suspect lies at the heart of why some creations may be more valuable than others.

I look forward to your comments :-)

All the best,
Yvette

Hi Mona,

My apologies for delay in my replying to your excellent comments. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts about these issues.

Let me start by saying that I don't mean to suggest that I have completely figured this out, only that it is an area of great interest to me. I have been pondering much of this for years and decided I could wait until I found the grant programming looking to fund what I want to do, try and adjust the framing of my work to conform with grantmaking guidelines and agendas or I could focus on developing the concepts I want to explore. As time has move on I find that was the better move because it leads to more meaningful collaborations.

Since my work is very much in the realm of intellectual property there were many who questioned the wisdom of publishing so much of this in a freely available pbwiki. Have people tried to "rip off" parts of my work....maybe but they have also helped to prove an essential point of interest.

My attention has been on contrast rather than competition, identifying what is unique to my work and especially those intangible assets that I bring to it that can only be integrated by me. It has been around this line of inquiry that we are exploring new business models.

Now the point of sharing all this is to show my understanding that situations change, new technology does demand that those in businesses touched or even shaped by such have to be willing to evolve. So to my mind, I wonder if that level of resistance is the same as what you describe by individuals. In the framework we are using, they are not only connected, they are one and the same....it is individuals who run companies and make the decisions that shape them.

Our laws will probably continue to struggle to keep pace with technology and I don't see an end to that. In practical terms that means that those in creative industries will have to evolve to survive. I think the music and film industries are prime examples of how refusal to do so may render complete industries irrelevant and therefore gasping for survival at best.

How does one support change in those who are resistant to change/growth? Leave them to the consequences of their own choices AND seek to strengthen infrastructures which support growth.

Also I think that the larger historical context of these issues needs to considered. This is part of what has accompanied every technological revolution that I am aware of....this is more than just technology though. Unlike any time in our history this is part of social and creative r/evolution. I don't think there are any simple answers in the sense that we usually think of them, I think the solution will have multiple layers but is not at its heart complex...it just requires seeing behind one's present point of reference.

In the same way that popular culture seems to support stagnation and superficiality, those same tools can be used to promote dialogues about things that matter. So rather than saying my solution is THE Solution, I would like to engage others to discover a range of solutions that work for a range of specific situations. Unless everyone can feel their needs in the deal are met and what they offered valued, we will only get band aids.

I think I rejected the idea that the big issues are too big so we must limit ourselves to peripheral concerns. I am interested in what lies at the core because I think that is the key to not only business solutions that help address social needs but actually achieving the holy grail of idealists......lasting peace.

Thanks for the chance to learn more about how you see these issues. l feel that every bit I am able to learn helps me better understand the situation and possible paths forward.

Thanks,
Yvette

Dear Yvette,

Thank you so much the thoughtful message and for the importance of this issue that you are working on. I can see easily that we are on the same line of thoughts. Not only that I agree with what you are proposing, but also the angle you want to handle it from the roots I have believed that knowing the starting point of a problem can solve big part of it. I was very pleased to read your expression” I do not wish to be distracted by symptoms; I am paying attention to the source of these issues” “What if we started to go to the root of "problems" instead of only attempting to deal with symptoms?”

I so agree with also with you “not the replication of the work that is really the issue, it is the consciousness of one who does not value the creative efforts of another and lacks confidence in their own ability to create” I am truly happy to meet someone who thinks and agree with me.

But I have always asked myself this question; how could you get someone to change from within if he/she do not wish to, do not realize the necessity, do not have the creative brains of their own, probably they are lazy to even try to think or they enjoy to have what is free of charge and free of efforts!

MORALS is a big word, laws can’t solve morals but can only punish sometimes justly or unjustly. For this reason, the majorities have lost faith in legal laws and try to have their own which create even more problems, Conflicts, conflicts and conflicts.

Also, how could you bring laws in countries have no laws. Now I am not trying to hint on only one subject but just for example; Chinese have no copyright laws, therefore, we got the Chinese proverbs” we copyright and we do not copywrong” Although the whole world is aware of this factor, yet, no one has stepped in to stop this issue. Who is paying the price, poor artists who found many time their artwork been printed and for sale on found their artwork on other websites for sale etc.

It is very unique when I found out that Chinese philosophy is that they are willing to pay back the artist if he/she found out and complained!!!!

Where would we start even form within, how can you change hearts attitudes and consciousness?

As for those who read but do not comment, it could be many reasons. Chasing every behavior is a life time job.

I do wish you every success in you noble research and the new approaches to solving important issues. I admire you and glad to get to know you.

Kind regards,

Mona

Actually, Mona, I am not. Because since the belief is that reality flows from the inside out....attention is not given to that I do now wish to create/experience.

So in the context of my work I am developing models that are based on ideas such as Radical Inclusion http://comfusion.pbwiki.com/WebAntiphon%3ARadical_Inclusion

And key to these models is the role of social capital, and in that paradigm one who conducts themselves as you described would have a shortage of social capital and so in a relationship fueled Attention Economy, such a person would find themselves naturally penalized. Because although I ma not giving attention to that aspect that is the consequence of such decision making.

So in the context of transparency such a "violation" will speak for itself about the quality or lack of.
There are many approaches to exploring these kind of issues and I hope my work will lead people to question the system(s) that exist that have not really addressed the heart of these kind of issues.

It is not the replication of the work that is really the issue, it is the consciousness of one who does not value the creative efforts of another and lacks confidence in their own ability to create.
What if we started to go to the root of "problems" instead of only attempting to deal with symptoms?

Consider for example, how the framework you mentioned puts those without money for a team of legal eagles to guard their copyrights is at a distinct advantage and the existing system has really favored big business over the individual artists. (i.e. movie companies/directors accused of stealing scripts from a sole writer responding to a call for new material....The Matrix for example)
This model really doesn't work for most artists, so why hasn't someone tried to develop a better way?

In a nutshell that is my approach. I do not wish to be distracted by symptoms, I am paying attention to the source of these issues.

I am very grateful for your comments. I am sure others have similar thoughts but don't post them and this gives me a chance to address those aspects.

Best,
Yvette

Dear Yvette,

Thank you for commenting back. I thinking I am getting there to understand your point :-)

Although I love writing but you are a great writer. So let me put it this way with my own simple expression. Can we say that “copying / transparencing unconsciously, some one’s qualities, character and behavior is admiration but transparencing someone’s work deliberately is infringement!

I hope that you are entailing this factor clearly, in your research! As for your question: “What if that suggest a fundamental flaw in approach” This by itself can create so much verity yet, I would ask you back” Who was the originator of that idea!”

Kind regards,

Mona
Yvette Dubel Comment by Yvette Dubel on February 6, 2008 at 4:16pm
Had a quick thought to add....

Attempts to stop people from copying the work of others has not stopped the practice. What if that suggest a fundamental flaw in approach?
To my mind, when you find a solution to a problem it ceases to be an issue. Since that has not happened in this area, I have simply endeavored to explore a new approach, as strange as it may seem, that is based on the core concept of radical inclusion.

We'll see where it leads as I am working on developing a pilot project for the entertainment/music industry....
