Dear Ian,

Thank you very much for your input, but unfortunately my life situation right now makes it imossible to actively coordinate SICU as the pipe (plumbing) renovation goes on in the house where I live and work for the moment. I am and will be an evacuated person still for a month or so. I ask you NOT to go forward before I'm back, though your idea is very interesting.

Tom, I'm about to assail you with a a recent spark of inspiration which will hopefully restore some of your lost faith in me, and from which I hope we, all of us, can benefit. Its an email, but I'll also post it here, if that's okay!

Sorry I've been so quiet so long. I've just been too busy trying to get myself a bit more 'online credibility' before really launching myself on SICU. I've been searching for a way to launch myself with a bit of a 'bang', and at the same time give SICU a credibility-boost ... With a 'live' event running simultaneously in each of the countries where you have global partners in place.

My dear friend, we are about to launch the SICU Business Innovation Oscar Awards.

Separate competitions running in all of 'your' countries.

Nomination contest ... Award Ceremony... The whole flippin' caboodle!

These simultaneous international ceremonies would run concurrently with the premier event, which would be the SICU International Grand Finale.

The culmination of this process, the awarding of the Global Business Innovation Oscars at a gala live event will take place in Finland, The whole 'global extravaganza will be linked up via satellite, of course.

Correctly managed, and innovatively geared to grab the attention of the International media, this concept could gain SICU serious international credibility and a greatly expanded global footprint.

But one thing I insist on is that I am going to launch this. This is a borrowed concept ... It originated as an email I received today from an American business development 'coach' (who, with your permission I would like to share this letter with).

I have however greatly 'expanded' the concept and linked it to truly unique 'presence' on the web, and the only person who truly deserves to host such an award. None other than Mr Tom Merilahti.

Consider this as my contribution (albeit very belated* to SICU. I would want the right (in collaboration with you) to manage it in such a way that it also becomes a platform for us as your global partners, to enhance our own credibility. Not only in our own countries, but globally.

I think this would also give all of us a focus and a clearly defined short-term role, which in turn will begin to 'weld' us collectively into a more tightly knit global 'co-operative' (for want of a better term).

And is that after all not how originally concetualised this global partnership?
